Golden Eagle Festival in Western Mongolia takes place for 2 days. Hunters with their Golden Eagles will gather form different villages and will compete with each other. They will demonstrate their hunting skills and skills of their trained Eagles.
Early in the morning you will fly from capital city Ulaanbaatar to Ulgii province about 3 hours. At the Ulgii airport our team will welcome you. Then you will be driving to Tavan Bogd National Park for 6-7 hours.
Overnight in a tent ( L+D)
After breakfast, you will start trekking to Base Camp. Great opportunity to experience scenic view of Altai Mountains. Camels will be loaded with travel gears. On the way you will cross crystal clear streams, enjoy surrounding wild nature. Arrive to Base camp after trekking 5-6 hours.
Overnight in a tent (B+L+D)
It is non technical climbing, however, be careful because terrain is rocky and slippery. From the top great opportunity to see Russian, Chinese, Kazakhstan as well Mongolia Altai Mountains. You are on the roof of Mongolia. Great view of Mountains, Glaciers and steppe landscape. Total climbing takes about 6 hours.

After breakfast, you will trek back to Ranger Station. Descending to Ranger Station would be much easier. Once you get to Ranger Station, will rest sometime and start driving to Tsengel Village.
Overnight in a tent around Tsengel Village (B+L+D)
Early in the morning you will start driving to Bayan Ulgii city. On the way, you will see Balbal stones form Turkish Khanat civilization. After arriving to Ulgii, you will visit local Bazar (market), handcraft shops, mosque and friendship hill.
Overnight in a Ger Camp or Hotel (B+L+D)
For 2 days, you will experience Golden Eagle Festival. Great opportunity for photographers to shoot great photos or just enjoy traditional games as mentioned above.

After experiencing a beautiful nature and astounding culture of Western Mongolia, you will fly back to Ulaanbaatar.
Bushkashi or Kokbar is a traditional sport game which horse mounted players attempt to place a goat's carcass in a goal or on the roof of a Ger. It is played widely in central Asian countries such as Afhganistan, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Western China and in Western Mongolia.
A game is usually conducted as follows. A young man on horseback waits at a starting line. A young woman, also mounted, starts her horse galloping from a given distance behind the young man. When the young woman passes the young man, he may start his horse galloping. The two race towards a finish line some distance ahead. If the young man is able to catch up to the young woman before they reach the finish line, he may reach out to her and steal a kiss.
In this competition both men and women may participate. It is played by by teams of ten. Each is given four arrows' the team must hit "surs" ( targets". Men shoot their arrows from 75 meters away while women shoot theirs from 65 meters away. Traditionally the archers wear their national clothing ( Deel) during the competition.
A competition in which riders must swoop down to pick up a scrap of material from the ground at full gallop.
